Quick attachment of the locking sling
Background: In via ferrata it is recommended, in addition to the via ferrata set to also attach a locking sling to the climbing harness to help yourself if you feel unwell. Exhaustion or simply hanging on the steel cable of the via ferrata to rest. A webbing sling with a screw carabiner, which is attached centrally to the tie-in point, is usually used.
When using the Ti-Clip, the carabiner is now clamped into it instead of being hooked into the usual material loops on the climbing harness. The decisive advantage of the Ti-Clip is the speed and the simple sequence of movements with which the locking sling can now be used. The speed factor is particularly important in situations when you are running out of strength or suddenly experience physical difficulties.
Attaching a Ti-Clip is usually sufficient for this application. The ideal positioning is extremely lateral, so that the carabiner is not unintentionally unclipped by the movement of the leg (e.g. when climbing high steps).
Possibility to stow the safety branches for more comfort on walking terrain
Furthermore, our customers like to use the Ti-Clip as a readily available storage option for the freely hanging loops of the Securing branches (picture) when they are not needed and are only a nuisance (e.g. on easy terrain).
